Buildings Insurance – What’s not Covered!
Every policy has a number of exclusions or things which are not covered. These will be detailed in the small print of the policy. You must read your policy carefully to make sure you understand what is and what is not covered. If you are unsure – ask. Better to check today than be sorry tomorrow.
There are a number of common buildings insurance exclusions which include damage arising from wear and tear, Sonic bangs from aircraft and Frost damage.
There are normally specific exclusions which relate to the property being unoccupied – be careful of these if you are planning on taking a long holiday as these normally kick in after 30 days and could invalidate a claim. War or acts of terrorism, Radioactive contamination are also always excluded.
